Ranchi : The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has achieved a major success in the paper leak case of the Junior Engineer (Diploma) Recruitment Examination conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) in the year 2022. The SIT has arrested Arun Kumar, the wanted director and operator of the New Delhi-based agency ‘Bynsis Technology Pvt Ltd’, which conducted the examination, from Mumbai. The arrested accused has been sent to jail in judicial custody on August 10, 2026. The accused is originally a resident of Khokhuna village located in Chiksaura police station area of Nalanda district of Bihar.
The answer key went viral even before the exam began.
It is noteworthy that the JSSC conducted a competitive examination for 1,279 Junior Engineer (Diploma) positions on July 3, 2022. The answer key went viral on social media just before the first shift began on the exam day. Given the sensitivity of the matter and the potential for fraud, the commission declared the exam cancelled. Following a written application by candidate Mithilesh Kumar Mahato, an FIR was registered at the Namkum police station under case number 227/22, under sections of the Bihar Examination Conduct Act, including fraud, conspiracy, and the IT Act.
In Patna, candidates were made to memorize the answers.
The investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate and thoroughly investigate the matter confirmed the paper leak. The investigation found that the New Delhi-based BioNysis Technology Agency was responsible for the examination. The paper leak syndicate had gathered dozens of candidates in Patna before the exam and made them memorize the questions and answers. The investigation uncovered concrete evidence of the direct involvement of the examination conducting agency and its senior officials in this fraud.
Senior managers and syndicate members have previously been jailed.
The SIT has previously arrested and jailed several accused in this case. Those remanded to judicial custody include candidate Ranjit Mandal, syndicate members Deepak Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Deepak Srivastava, and Krishna Kumar, a senior manager at the exam conducting agency.
Raids continue in search of absconding accused
Following the arrest of the agency’s chief director, Arun Kumar, police are investigating other networks linked to the syndicate. Police officials say they are continuously conducting raids on potential hideouts to apprehend other identified and absconding accused involved in the scandal, and that the remaining accused will soon be brought to justice.
